Vinny Sullivan 73
Galway United's miserable season at Terryland Park continued tonight as Waterford United claimed their first away win of the season to climb above the Tribesmen in the relegation battle near the foot of the Premier Division.
Galway took the lead just three minutes into the second half after a very even first period. Barry Moran's cross forced a scramble at the back from Waterford with Dean Delaney's attempted punch clear rebounding off defender Robbie Hedderman for an own-goal.
David Breen headed home an equaliser just five minutes later though as Waterford looked a much steadier ship with the returning Dave Mulcahy anchoring the ship and possibly suggesting that St. Pats were very hasty in cutting him adrift.
Vinny Sullivan struck for the winner on 73 minutes as he carved open the home defence before slotting home superbly for his fifth league goal of the season - exactly one third of Waterford's overall tally.
