Jason McCartney levelled five minutes from the end to deny Shelbourne a fourth successive win in the First Division of the League of Ireland.

Anthony Flood missed a couple of good chances in the early going for Shels while Mark Rooney narrowly missed with a long range shot.

Mark Leech hit the woodwork shortly after half-time as Shels again failed to capitalize on their dominance.

They eventually went ahead on 79 minutes when Leech found the net.

However, they couldn't hold on as Monaghan levelled through McCartney.
