Despite finishing with just nine men, Finn Harps extended their unbeaten run in the First Division of the League of Ireland to twelve games with a 1-0 win over Wexford Youths at Finn Park.

Shaun McGowan pounced on some poor defending to fire home the only goal of the game after just six minutes.

Although they looked the more likely side to add to the scoring, Harps were reduced to ten men on 38 minutes when Eloka Asokuh was sent off after collecting his second booking of the evening.

Declan Boyle went close with a second half header although it wasn't a comfortable finish for the home side - playing the last ten or so minutes with two men less.

Conor Gethins was the second player sent off, red carded after an altercation with Wexford's Stuart Lawlor.

Wexford Youths : P Doyle, Dunning, Rossiter, Wadding, Russell, Sinnott (Miller 65), O'Loughlin, Malone (Flynn-O'Connor 86), Dempsey, G Doyle, Furlong.
